Welcome Home!
Hello friends and welcome to my therapeutic release from the Donald Trump regime. My past endeavors as a physicist, physics instructor, and sports writer would render the passionate and public expression of my political sentiments a most unlikely progression. Nonetheless, as a man of profound integrity, I am deeply troubled by its absolute scarcity as exhibited by our elected constituents of the Republican Party. Furthermore, as our president attempts to subvert the rule of law, our congressional Republicans have abdicated their constitutional duties to act as a co-equal branch of government that is intended to serve as a check on President Trump’s imperialistic commandeering of power.
It is quite disheartening to see a felonious actor, who happens to serve as our president, continue to tweet inappropriately, publicly disparage reporters, particularly those whom are African American women, and break every possible presidential norm, and yet still be the undeserving recipient of unwavering support from Republican lawmakers who have been shamelessly derelict in their duties. Their actions, or more appropriately, their inaction have generated a fire in my bones, only extinguished by the expression of my candid thoughts.
Donald J. Trump is a racist, corrupt, and pathological liar who is ill-suited to run an ant farm, let alone this great nation. Despite having less political experience than Kermit the frog, and a moral compass that would route him through Phoenix, while traveling from Boston to New York, he, nonetheless, received enough support to win the 2016 presidential election. However, the recent revelations of the widespread and successful suppression of the black vote, along with a colossal propaganda effort directed towards an easily duped intellectually deficient subgroup of the white electorate, indeed call into question the legitimacy of said victory. After all, 77,000 votes across three states ultimately decided this election.
Accepted into the 2014 New York City Teaching Fellowship, an elite group of individuals selected to provide instruction at New York City’s most socio-economically disadvantaged academic institutions, I have a zero-tolerance policy regarding racism. While Donald Trump did not create the racist inclinations as revealed in a significant portion of our population, he affirmed and even encouraged their public expression.
Lastly, while some people refer to our current volatile environment of highly partisan politics as “tribalism,” I see no reason to sugarcoat what would be more appropriately dubbed “racism.”
I encourage all to peruse my “Blog” and read some of my thoughts.
